Professional Music Theory Tuition

Learn Music Theory with LP Music Tuition

At LP Music Tuition, we believe that understanding music is just as important as playing it, which is why music theory is included in everything we do.

Music theory activities are built into our regular lessons as standard. Whether a student is learning piano, guitar, singing or another instrument, we make sure they develop the essential skills to read music confidently, understand rhythm, recognise key signatures and make sense of how music fits together. Learning theory alongside practical playing helps students feel more secure and capable in their overall musicianship.

For students who would like more focused support, we also offer individual music theory lessons. These are tailored to each student’s level and goals, particularly for those preparing for graded exams. Lessons are clear, structured and supportive, helping students build confidence step by step.

We also run themed Music Theory Clubs for children during the school holidays. These sessions are designed to make learning engaging and enjoyable, while still covering the key requirements for their level. Through games, creative tasks and group activities, children gain a solid understanding of theory in a relaxed and encouraging environment.

Why choose LP Music Tuition for Music Theory Lessons?

We are proud to prepare students for exams with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), and we hold a 100% pass rate in music theory exams. The majority of our students achieve high distinctions, reflecting not only strong teaching but the confidence and understanding they develop throughout their lessons.

We are grateful to receive consistently positive feedback and glowing recommendations from both pupils and parents, many of whom comment on how much they enjoy our music theory games and activities. Making lessons engaging is very important to us, and we believe students learn best when they are relaxed, interested and actively involved.

Alongside recognised, published music theory workbooks, we also create many of our own resources. These include physical materials such as board games, flashcards and card games, as well as digital games that pupils can access at home. This allows students to continue reinforcing their learning between lessons in a fun and interactive way, which is one of the reasons so many of our pupils go on to achieve strong exam results.

At LP Music Tuition, we are passionate about making music theory clear, supportive and genuinely enjoyable for every learner.
